The misconception here is,if you are able to pass the CFI Test you are now a Fire Investigator. You have to be a competent, experienced, and educated investigator to be a CFI. This is not meant to be easy. The questions are not hard, they are relevant! If you understand fire investigation, build your knowledge on the scientific method, study the recommended books, and stay current on the IAAI training seminars, you at some point will pass the CFI Exam. But before you do any of this read NFPA 1033. Become proficient with this book. If you cannot stand the challenges of 1033, your testimony, investigation opinion, become mute points. Good Luck!
