Full Room Involvement, Flashover, and Post-Flashover burning modes are different. The definition of these by fire investigators tend to leave out any reference to ventilation. Full Room Involvement is really fuel controlled burning, where Post-Flashover burning is ventilation controlled. The production of fire patterns are different with these two modes. Some of the most significant work in this area was published through grant work funded by. the DOJ and conducted at the ATF lab.
