Thanks John. This is tricky. The fire started in a freshly laundered load of towels, that when tested, showed the presence of the methyl esters of the following fatty acids: stearic acid, palmitic acid, oleic acid, and linoleic acid. We are looking at a time frame of somewhere between 15 to 60 minutes.
In my opinion in seems like too short of a time period for spontaneous ignition to occur, but at this point I can't find anything to support my opinion.
