Meth pipes as an ignition source

I’m currently looking at a fire where a glass ‘meth pipe’ was located within the coils of a burned out mattress in completely burned out bedroom.
My question is does anyone have experience with, specifically the hot meth pipe, being a conceivable ignition source for a mattress? I’ve only been able to find two news articles through a web search regarding meth pipes as an ignition source. Any input would be appreciated.
