Here is some additional information as to the intent of the new National Fire Protection Association standard on fire investigation unites.
1. Will not require accreditation of the fire investigation unit.
2. Will require investigators meet minimum certification requirements.
3. Will require compliance with safety procedures that are developed.
4. Will require compliance for training standards that are developed.
5. Will require compliance for certification standards that are developed.
6. Will require compliance for educational standards that are developed.
7. Will require compliance for origin and cause report contents.
8. Will require compliance for a management system to be developed.
9. Standard will be written in non-JPR format.
