The book is significantly updated from the second (2013) edition to reflect the new appreciation for the role of ventilation in the behavior of fire and the production of fire patterns. Many of the drawings illustrating fire dynamics principles have been updated. Also, there are new sections on lithium-ion batteries, MOV's, and lightning fires in buildings using CSST. There are also new case studies, some of which I have included in my monthly newsletter, available at www.firescientist.com

This edition includes learning objectives, and both multiple-choice and discussion questions at the end of each chapter. There is also a PowerPoint containing almost 3000 slides available to enable the course to be presented in multiple locations e.g., training academies and college classrooms. To reduce costs, the book is now available in softcover and in E-textbook format.
