The only information I have been able to learn from the manufactures of the glass bulbs and the manufacturer of the sprinkler heads is that any contact with the glass bulb can result in failure of the sprinkler to operate in a fire situation or operate prematurely. Trying to learn what this warning is based on is like pulling teeth.
I agree, as of now this looks to be more of a myth.
