Melting of copper in fires

Gotta consulting electrical engineer dabbling in Fire Investigation,
resulting in a residential Insurance claim being declined on the basis of
evidence of electrical arcing (the best of his substantiating photos attached;
perhaps I'm a bit slow, but I don't see it; looks like normal melting to me),
claiming that since they occurred near floor level, it cannot be due to heat alone
(room went to flashover, so his Temperature argument is null & void;
still 1 085°C/1985°F is pushing the upper T-limits of a bedroom fire).

So far in this saga, bullshit (i.e. highfalutin report, flashier photos) baffles brains...

Most articles I have on the matter deal with beading on copper wire only;
anyone got anything on electrical connectors (socket receptacles, plug prongs etc.)?

Much appreciated.
