Don't slam mobiles phones.
I was called directly to a fire scene whilst hiking; did it in shorts, hiking boots with my hiking headlamp
and mobile phone (being extra careful not to drop it) - photos came out great!
It's constantly amazed how they can squeeze in a 64-megapixel sensor and lenses into something a quarter-inch thick!
Also, the software is slicker, with all sorts of tricks; facial recognition, item-tracking focus, swipe panoramas etc.;
sharing/transferring photos/files is also seamless with half a dozen options how to.
I think it's a numbers game, in terms of R&D :
design a new point-&-shoot, you might sell a few hundred thousand;
design a new mobile handset, you might sell a few hundred million.
That said, I still prefer a real, robust camera with proper buttons I can operate wearing gloves.
Call me old school! (I still barbecue with wood)
