I totally agree with you as to my limited knowledge as to modeling. All I know is that with all their knowledge and experience with modeling NIST took months and hundreds of calculations to get it right of the Station Nightclub. They needed separate tests to adjust the input data into the model program before they got it to match what the video showed took place. I do not see how one can say the results of the CFIcalculator can be considered valid if all the steps conducted by NIST are not followed.
Now using the CFI calculator an investigator will be able to reach the same quality and accuracy as did NIST without all the experiments and without having a video to match the results of the program. I may be completely wrong on this topic.
