There seems to be some confusion here between "certification" and "training." In a training exercise, which is what the CFITrainer modules are, feedback on wrong answers would be helpful.
A certification program, on the other hand, has more serious documentation issues. Certification bodies enlist candidates by telling them that certification is a major professional achievement. The record of that achievement should not be so detailed that instead of beiing a badge of honor, being certified is actually used against the certified individual.
Mr. Witness, which questions did you miss on the certification exam?
Being able to state honestly that such information is not made available is a major positive attribute of a certification program. Some certification programs do not even supply a score. The certificant thus cannot answer a question about how many answers he or she missed. They only know that they met the program's criteria for passing.
The examination is really just a gateway to professional development. It is the continuing education component that makes certification worthwhile.
