If i recall correctly how they explained these fires back then. These fires are so hot that when water was used to put it out it actually sucked oxygen from water and made it worse.
am i right this is where John Orr? was involved.
In the case of class D materials, Magnesium,aluminum,sodium I would not use water to begin with.
