Senior Vehicle Fire Investigator

Scope:

The successful candidate will be a full time integral part of the Fire Team, working under the Principal of the Fire and Electrical Group. As a Fire Investigator, you will provide;
• Fire investigations involving Truck, Coach, RV, Heavy Equipment, Agricultural and Mining equipment;
• Emergency generator and marine work;
• Directly liaise with clients on a regular basis;
• Develop suitable testing and analysis protocols;
• Prepare clear and concise technical reports in an efficient and professional manner;
• Liaise with Fire and Police Departments regarding Requests for Information;
• Plan and manage projects and prepare material cost and timing estimates;
• Have experience with or work towards providing expert testimony in court; and,
• Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements:
• A documented minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Vehicle Fire Investigator;
• CFEI, CVFI, CFI or equivalent;
• Working knowledge of tractor trailer mechanical (mechanic or technician license preferred)
• Previous experience working in an engineering consulting environment is an asset;
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle;
• Thorough understanding of the subrogative process in regards to fire origin and cause investigations;
• Knowledge of regulatory codes and standards such as NFPA 921, 1033, ASTM, or the Fire Code;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and,
• Court expertise is an asset.
