I find it remarkable, but not unusual, that according to the Detroit Free Press article: the lead police investigator still refuses to admit the error.
Detroit Free Press: "The lead investigator in the Gavitt probe, retired State Police Sgt. John Fatchett of Parma disagrees with Lentini's findings. 'As far as I'm concerned, we got the right result,' he told the Free Press."
This is commonly the case in reversed arson convictions.
Eventually, with our stringent help, the system will weed out the hacks. This will happen slowly over time and the worst offending hacks will be weeded out first.
Sadly, I am equally sure that we will never get them all.
