Dear Anonymous Fire Investigator,
There are a number of good answers and suggestions about you questions, both in 921 and from other sources.
However, to me, the only real question here is why any reasonable fire investigator would even bother to help a poster who has neither the manners, nor the forthrightness to even identify himself when asking for help.
This is a particularly poignant point, as it is clear that you are in great need of help.
In your 12 previous posts, in four different threads which you started since 2010 you have continually failed and even refused to identify yourself, as well as displayed a total lack of knowledge and understanding of the philosophy, science, methodology and technology of fire investigation, and 921.
None of us would, or do, begrudge a colleague of advice. However, to my mind you insult us by your anonymity. I am also insulted by the mendacity of you declaring a particularly detailed scenario as hypothetical. Do you seriously expect us to believe that you are not asking for help on a real case?
