Several years ago we had a case where it a similar ignition scenario was opined. I don't remember all the data, but we did an actual experiment to duplicate the opined scenario and we were never able to get sufficient heat energy transfer to any adjoining surfaces (including wood paneling) to result in ignition.
As Pat indicated if there was some type of intervening fuel (roll of paper towels as an example, then you have a different scenario.
