Is there a reason you would not want to see the wording, which to the best of the investigatorÂ’s knowledge is identical to the suspect sample in every respect except that no accelerant has been applied to the material being selected for comparison, included into the definition?

All I am saying is when addressing this issue we are not always talking to persons in our profession. The person on the jury may just have a room temperature I.Q. I still what that person on my side. This is why I am asking if it would deter from the quality of the document to have this one definition added.

As to your definition: "a comparison sample is a sample used for comparison with another," should the person sitting on the jury believe this means both should be identical, including what is in them?
