In response to Swansons questions, Steele County Sheriffs Office Investigator Troy Matejcek testified that he did not detect or find evidence of any accelerant at the scene. Wood samples from the fires supposed origin point was tested by the state as well as the insurance company. Both tests came back negative for accelerants.
According to the complaint, authorities believe an accelerant was used due to evidence of an intense fire.
