In follow-up since I couldn't edit..........since the building code establishes a requirement for "a system" one would need to properly reference the edition the system was installed under and subsequent references/exceptions to the edition of the maintenance document for that applicable building code for proper linkage.

I don't believe it would be the remains of a dog (Rawhide) chew due to the fibrous ends and expectation of melted ends having burned a few in my younger days. If you have purchased the copy or you have in possession a VHS copy simply contact NFPA (Customer Service) and their legal department is very good to work with regarding copyright if you are using the educational material as intended. You'll have to sign and return a waiver. We've done transfers to DVD's for other dis-continued material.
