`OK...I have a question for you John, or whoever may want to answer it. And I don't know the answer, so this is not a “clown question bro”. I don't know the details of the entire Willingham case, just what has been posted on here, but I am sure that several on this site know the entire case intimately. 1. Here are the two givens. Willingham was scum and potentially capable of doing somet

Like the ethics committee. No. I know of at least one FIT who is probably far more qualified as a FIRE Investigator than some individuals who routinely post here.

Fair enough...to answer the question "Is an FIT a Fire Investigator?" I would say unequivocally....not necessarily. If you only have the minimum qualifications of an FIT, then the answer is no. That being said, all of the individuals that I personally know with the FIT designation are in fact Fire Investigators. I am sure that there are those FIT's whom are not fire investigators; I just don'

First I must apologize to Pat because my response will take more than the two lines that I usually offer. “Is an FIT a Fire Investigator?” No more so than a CFEI... or CFI are for that matter. I recall a posting of an individual that held the CFEI credentials and was seeking a job in the field, but stated that he would need OJT because he had little practical experience on fire investigati

What does it matter Jim? In the spirit of the RNC I would like to address your question by quoting the great Dan Quayle. "We don't want to go back to tomorrow, we want to go forward." or how about: It's a question of whether we're going to go forward into the future, or past to the back." and finally: "It's time for the human race to enter t

Well, I'm enjoying a bootlegged Yuengling Black and Tan and just hanging out. Jim Cantori is here in New Orleans, which sucks, but so far it hasn't rained a single drop where I am. Knock on WOOD. Of course, Pat, at your advanced age you wouldn't know anything about wood, would you? Dan Hebert

Carter, I want to publicly thank you for participating in the IAAI Panel Discussion at the Dover, DE conference last month. As I suspected, even though we sometimes disagree on certain topics, you are always willing to give your opinion and that is always beneficial and entertaining during a panel discussion. I thought the panel discussion was very informative and well received and you contr

You may not have to prove it. If your complaint appears valid, I would suspect that the noted organizations would take the appropriate steps to allow the the accused to prove his qualifications. If someone made such an allegation about me, I would have no problem "proving" anything submitted on my CFI application. Dan Hebert

Hold one of the certifications and proctored the other a few times. I would disagree with what you "heard". Both tests accurately test your "basic knowledge".
