My dearest friend Ron, Despite the facts that you are extremely short and quite bald, you have always been my rock. To those who may read this post: if you live 97, and you have a friend as good as Ron Hopkins, you will never need another.

It is with great sorrow that I announce that my father, John Kennedy, passed away quietly early this morning, January 8, 2016. He was 97. A pioneer in the fire investigation profession, he was one of the eight founding members of the IAAI, one of the founding members of NAFI, and a life member of the NFPA, A highly decorated WWII Navy veteran, he joined the Navy before the war in the sprin

Hi Jim, You wrote"It appears that the standard specifically gives this authorization only to individuals that are qualified to conduct the evaluation and must be approved by the authority having jurisdiction. NFPA is very strict when it comes to its definition as to the “Authority Having Jurisdiction.” They state this is an organization, office or individual responsible for enforcing the

Hi, "iacoss," Yes, you have come to the right place. Welcome. Though there is no requirement, some of us are a little hesitant to answer posts from people when we do not know to whom we are speaking. Many sign their posts, some do not. It is up to you. Again, thanks for joining the discussions. There is much to be learned here.

The study of Probability and Statistics is a science based upon proven mathematics. The data analyses produced and reported by the NFPA are based upon the collection of sampling data and the application of the principles of such scientific probability and statistics by college educated professionals. Lay individuals who have not formally studied the science provide the vocal pool of naysayers
