Moreover I wonder what grants, etc. were used to pay for the K9, and it's and the handlers training and certifications. And, whether those grants, etc. prohibit the use (actually in my view misuse)of the k-9 under the circumstances you described.

Darle stated: " If they are all at the scene together and processing the scene together, I would not have such an issue with it. But when a local investigation is completed and then the private investigator request a government dog… just is not right in my opinion. If the insurance company is not willing to pay for the services of a private dog, then they should not have that service provided at

Possibly a substrate used to form a cylindrical shape that is covered by some fabric or other finish material the finish product of which may be part of some other item. An upholstery shop might be a good source for possible identification.

Oops I inadvertently left off necessary quotation marks. These are quotes from the referenced articles. Correcting below. "In response to Swanson’s questions, Steele County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Troy Matejcek testified that he did not detect or find evidence of any accelerant at the scene. In response to Swanson’s questions, Steele County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Troy Matejcek testified that he did not detect or find evidence of any accelerant at the scene. Wood samples from the fire’s supposed origin point was tested by the state as well as the insurance company. Both tests came back negative for accelerants. According to the complaint, authorities believe an accelerant wa

John said "I’ll give up transcripts on my active cases, other than the one in question, when the judge says I must." You are in my view absolutely correct and are taking the right approach.

I do. I provide the required list if requested but I have always refused to provide any information on a particular case beyond the list without a court order. Frankly to date no requesting party has obtained a court order in response to my refusal. I agree too with Rich, selling copies of transcripts are how court reporters earn their living. If some party wants these as far as I am concerned

"I would venture that auto theft investigations aren't subjected to Daubert challenges as routinely as fire investigations." Sad to say but I think you are probably right about that David.

Hi Alan, Seems to me that as a practical matter that might be hard to do without losing the ability to toast as little or more as you like, given the current method we use for toasting. Here we have a rapid temperature rise in the device where the exposure time is key to the doneness if you like of the toast target. So a thermal protection device alone it seems to me would not work and still

I agree Jim. I have not seen any PI license exam that had anything to do with qualifications and knowledge for a fire investigator. Nor any statute that has any requirement for any level of knowledge or certification for a fire investigator. I do however see hugh license application fees and annual license fees. Also as in Ohio Sales Tax on Licensed PI's. These in my view are really not

Jim, I have no quarrel with your reason for asking. My "Exactly" was actually meant to refer to why lie about this in the first place. Maybe the opposing counsel should have asked the judge to allow questioning him with the jury not present on this testimony. Whose fault is it if an expert is not examined about his/her testimony?
