"CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A federal jury awarded $13.2 million to a former housing authority security officer Friday after finding two Cleveland detectives fabricated or withheld evidence at his 2000 murder trial. David Ayers, 56, who spent 11 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit, and several jurors wept as the verdict against detectives Denise Kovach and Michael Cipo was read in

And....BTW the dealerships have access to the most correct and up to date information. I have found on more than one occassion that Mitchel and other non-oem manuals are not the best source for consistently reliable data. The best and most reliable data is that of the OEM.

My experience is that same as yours. I have never been turned down by a dealership when I have asked for help including getting copies of relevant manufacturer technical documents and the like. In fact, I have forever been pleased to find that more often than not shop managers will stop what they are doing and help you right away.

"It may, at times, provide some of the best data but it still must be consistent with the other data from the scene - such as witness statements, fire dynamics, and burn patterns." I for one do not agree that "it still must be consistent with .....witness statements......

Chris, As for me, I like Marks "Bumb Shit Alert" moniker for the button much better than "Ignore Button: or the like. Because it really would be a Dumb Shit that would prompt one to take the ignore action. I'm just sayin.

Ability to mark all posts read at the top. Would be of great help for those of us who tire of endless rantings and ravings covering the same ground over and over during the bickering and my dick is bigger than yours posts.

> every fire investigator worth his/her pay should be able to at least identify potential subrogation issues that may be involved in any given fire That's exactly what I did; the client took my ball and dropped it (if they were ever really in the game)... Then you did your job and earned your pay. What is that saying?? Oh yeah "you can lead a donkey to water but you cannot mak

With all due respect....every client who hires a fire investigator knows what they want. It is up to you to get that made clear before you set out on the assignment. If the client is an insurance company lets face it......essentially they want to know two things which your investigation hopefully will assit them in determining. The are 1. has there been a violation of the terms, conditions

Fire Marshal Connealy's comments are very encouraging. Hopefully he be able to move forward in a positive way and bring the needed improvements to fruition. And. if successful even make Texas a model for other States.

Have you considered asking the person trying to dictate that this question? "What are you going to tell the jury if your samples come back negative?"

Are the debris samples of your subject ones taken for laboratory testing and evaluation for the presence or absence of ignitable liquids?

And, if you are an interested party or someone representing an interested party you should hire an expert, that what we do.

And so Mr/Ms "Hidden identity" just how do we know that you are not planning such an incident? If you are an expert you should already know the answers to your questions.

In my view it constitutes an unfair restriction on interstate commerce, and although much touted as caring for public safety these type laws are more about restriction of interstate commercise and what really amounts to taxation.

Pat, I for one am pleased to hear this. My earlier comments were based primarily on prior posts to the contrary to which no one from either organization responded. I believe the leadership of these two fine organizations need to press for much needed changes in these restrictive and local protective laws.
