Just looked at a 2008 Ford Edge that had a fire isolated to the radiator cooling fan control module located on the driver's side of the engine coolant fans near the air box. It appears the module itself ignited. The owner said about three months ago her fans ran for hours after her ignition was turned off and killed her battery. She replaced the battery and everything was fine. The day of the fire she was driving and observed the outside temp. gauge reading 140 degrees, a little hot even for Texas. She observed smoke in the front driver's side grill. She pulled over and some guys from a body shop put it out with a 20lb. ABC.
