Did you check these for any relation to your fire?
1. NHTSA Service Bulletin Number 030604030 reported in summary that there misfire problems due to clogged fuel injectors.
2. NHTSA Action Number EA02030 reported in summary that there were alleged backfires were alleged backfires in starting General Motors 3.8 liter engines which could damage the plastic intake manifold and initiate an engine compartment fire.
