I forgot to mention that in the first case the vehicle hydraulics had been used earlier in the day but at the time of the fire, the vehicle was running and in motion. The passenger noticed smoke from the vents and then from the dash area as a whole. The driver pulled over, he didn't notice anyhing out of the ordinary. They then saw heavy smoke followed immediately by flames from the passenger side wheel well that soon spread. Weather was unseasonably warm but I do recall that the climate control was on and blowing.

The second occurance the truck was parked and in accessory mode with the heater running. It was a cold day. I only have the driver's tesimony second hand, but the report is nearly identical to the discovery of the first fire.
