2006 Crown Victoria

Engine compartment fire (police cruiser), greatest damage passenger side near battery (destroyed), fuel line and right side fuel rail.
Car was driven to location, left on with lights energized, several minutes later flames were coming out from under the hood. There were two batteries, one in the engine compartment and the other in the trunk. Breaker to trunk battery was tripped.
Ford reported some problems with an earlier model crown victoria but not the 2006.
Any thoughts?
