2006 Ford F750 Fire

An attorney in NC is working a fire in a 2006 Ford F-750s Super Duty Bucket Truck with a Terex Platform Modification bucket lift Model HR42M and has asked for information on similar fires. The fire occurred after the vehicle had not been used for at least a day or two.

The truck was brand new in Sept. 2005 and had only about 30,000 miles. The preliminary C&O report says that the origin is at the alternator, starter solenoid, and the conductor between the two.

Terex, who performed the bucket lift modification, advises that they did not make any changes at all under the hood of the truck, they only connected the chassis plug-in which was provided by the manufacturer.

Have any other Fire Investigators worked similar fires ?

I will pass on any available information to her. Thanks-

Terry Lacy
