It was only after I pointed out that the "technician" was very probably violating the insured's civil rights (performing "truth" analysis without representation of counsel or notification of such actions being performed), as well as violating state law on polygraph examinations and private investigation, that the insurance company SIU adjuster quit using this (I can't even degrade myself low enough to call it "junk science"-science has very little to do with this psychobabble). Most, including many in state law enforcement, started to laugh when this was presented as a featured topic years ago at an IAAI sanctioned seminar out here.
It was not my intent to slam the IAAI on this, and in fact, they immediately tried to distance themselves from this once it was researched further. My point was to show how things vary across each part of the country.
