Fire photograph request for a book

Dear List Members,

We are in the process of publishing a comprehensive book on fire debris analysis in the next few months with an international scientific publishing company. We are looking for the best possible photographs to illustrate some specific concept we explain throughout the introductory chapters of the book. We would be delighted to review photographs that you may have and be willing of publishing. Of course, each photograph would be included in the book with the mention "Photograph courtesy of XXX". This is a good opportunity to publish a nice photograph in a book that will have international coverage.

Photographs must be of good quality (exposure, etc.) and with a minimum resolution of 600 dpi (roughly corresponding to at least a 5 or 6 mpixels image). Should you be interested in submitting a photograph, please send it to me by email at arson@mac.com. Do not lower the quality of the image if it is in jpeg. If you have a tif format, it is possible to use the LZW compression, which is lossless.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration,

Sincerely Yours,

Eric Stauffer

List of photographs:

- A nice irregularly shaped pattern that is the result of the burning material from a room that underwent flashover. This pattern should resemble a pour pattern. This is to show that with just the shape of the pattern, one cannot call it a pour pattern.
- An irregularly shaped pattern that is actually a pour pattern.
- A pool-shaped pattern that is the result of a pouring of an ignitable liquid.
- A doughnut-shaped pattern (pouring of an ignitable liquid).
- The edge of a burn pattern, if possible created by the pouring of an ignitable liquid
- Two or three photographs (in a series) showing the sampling of evidence by layers (first photo of the burn, then removal of a carpet for example, then removal of the wood under it, for example)
- Photograph showing the process of taking a comparison sample (of a carpet for example)
- Someone using a PID or FID (electronic nose) sniffer at a fire scene.
- Someone using a Dräger manual or automatic pump for colorimetric tubes
