Dual D cell flashlight

I am working a fire of a two story wood frame residential structure. My best evidence was the discovery of a dual D cell flashlight found by fire fighters in the on position that is believed to have been dropped by the offender. Can anyone give me any insight of how long this light would have stayed lite before the batteries lost power?
