Candle Fire

Here is a brain teaser for the group.
We have a candle in a glass container. A person lights the candle and places the candle on a combustible surface with light combustibles adjacent to the candle. Ultimately the candle ignites these adjacent combustibles and there is a small fire. The only ignition source in the area is the candle.
However, the candle owner, knowing of the dangers of candle fires places the candle on a saucer and fills the saucer with water (Just a few millimeters deep)around and below the candle’s glass container. Would the addition of the water increase the chances of a rupture of the candle’s glass container? In essence, would the water cooling the exterior of the glass and the flame heating the interior of the glass lead to a worse situation than if the candle were placed on the saucer without the water.
