The NIDT-OSAC, part of the Dept of Commerce, is responding to the report of the National Academy of Sciences on forensic sciences. There are 25 committees that are evaluating ways to improve forensic sciences, including fire investigation.

This week the OSAC will announce the first document accepted by the OSAC on their list of approved forensic documents. The first document accepted by the OSAC is NFPA 921.

Next in line, which is still in the review process, is NFPA 1033.

This is good news.
