Compression of oil-soaked rags/-paper

Did a warehouse fire recently where the major fireload was automotive lubricants.
The fire engineer appointed to assess the compliancy issues suggested I consider a smoldering ignition from potentially compressed (e.g. by a pallet-trolley etc.) of oil-soaked rags/-paper.
I am aware of unsaturated vegetable oils on rags/-paper causing fires, but not mineral oils.
Anybody able to enlighten me on the fires risk of compressed automotive lubricants?
