For all those stating that NFPA 921 is just a guide beware. A recent federal court decision in Louisiana the courted stated, “Courts largely agree that the peer-reviewed NFPA 921 embodies the standards of the field of fire investigation and causation.” The court went on to use the document as a measuring stick when evaluation the investigation.
For those that think this applies only to fire investigators, this review was of the findings of an electrical engineer. The engineers testimony was excluded.
