Surrounded by his family, Ray passed away peacefully on October 15th at
the age of 73. A devoted husband to Irene for 45 years, a loving father to daughter Dr. Jacqueline Prime, Ph.D., and son James. Ray graduated with a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from McMaster University in 1973, and went forward to have a distinguished career at the Centre of Forensic Sciences (CFS)in Toronto, retiring in 2010 as the Director of the Centre. He was a widely respected Past President of the Canadian Society of Forensic Sciences and a lifetime member of the American Association of Forensic Science. His research into fire pattern analyses and fires in general were of great value in the Canadian fire investigation community. He will be remembered as a loyal friend, a dedicated and talented scientist, a man who would always step forward to help, a person who could fix anything and figure out everything.

He will be truely missed.
