Client's request was to mimic the actual fire's setup, i.e. cooking in Al-pots on a domestic electric two-plate stove;
the stove's make is unknown, but over here they all appear to be similar (if not identical), i.e. 2000W for two hobs.
I ran the hobs on max'High, but you could hear (& see-, they had pilot lights) the thermostats kick in & out.
I suggested to the attorney that they run a similar setup in court as practical demonstration;
no amount of reference to academic articles, MSDS auto-ignition temperatures and expert witnesses
is going to trump the real McCoy not catching fire after 6 straight hours in front of the judge.
