Upcoming changes to ASTM E860 and E1020

While not finalized at this time, there are some proposed upcoming changes to the above standards. The word "guidelines" is being proposed to change to "practices", "Private Investigators" is being added to the General Practice definition, and most importantly, the "should" is being replaced as a "SHALL". "Forensic Engineers" is being proposed to be removed and "Forensic Sciences" is proposed as the replacement.

In addition the two Standards are being considered for future revision cycles to be combined into a single document. But for the meantime they are staying separate.

The voting closes in another two weeks. I would recommend to all members to obtain a new copy of the standard next year when published to document the changes.
