Disturbing Incidents-Possible Trend- Propane Regulator Fires - RVs
Date: November 04, 2020 11:25AM
I have had two confirmed cases of propane regulator failures on brand new RVs in the past couple months. In addition, I am aware of two more potential incidents (haven't performed lab testing yet to negate or confirm). All these incidents involve the same Model 6020 two-stage regulator (see attached photo). These failures are causing significant supply overpressure incidents and fires in other related appliances. The regulator is mfg in China.
If you come across ANY Propane incidents using a similar two-stage regulator, it is recommended that you secure the regulator also and test it as well. In addition, I would appreciate you contacting me directly to compare notes.
