Alcohol is more dangerous than gasoline in some cases because its flash point is around room temperature. Therefore, flames can travel into the container and turn it into a flame thrower. Gasoline is so volatile that inside containers of fresh (not evaporated) gasoline, there is insufficient oxygen to support combustion.

Devices that burn jellied alcohol are at least as dangerous as those burning liquid alcohol.
