Look up ANSI Z21.58a. This is an AGA/ANSI Standard for Outdoor Cooking Gas Appliances.

Also ANSI Z21.15, 15a and 15b, Standard for Manual Gas Valves.

Also ANSI/UL 569 Standard for Pigtails and Flexible Hose Connectors for LP Gas.

Also ANSI Z21.77 standard for Manually-Operated Piezo-Electric Spark Gas Ignition Systems and Components.

Z21.58 a has both construction and performance requirements. If the grill has a window, it is required to pass both thermal shock and impact tests.

Burners are required to ignite within 4 seconds of the introduction of gas when tested in accordance with the mfr lighting instructions.

Burners are required to be able to be ignited and remain lit in a 10 mph wind.

Hope this helps.
