Check with your local fire academy they may have some excellent arson beginner courses then look at possible fire science courses your local community college has. also find a good competent investigator you may be able to mentor under.

There are also many excellent websites available as well which have been posted on this site. as well as sources thru IAAI

You do not need a college degree but you must educate your self.
