Upcoming August/September NFPA/NAFI Programs - Registrations still available

The NFPA/NAFI National Fire Arson and Explosion Investigation Training Programs on Advanced Fire Investigation and Fire Litigation are fast approaching, just over a week away. Both programs will be held in Sarasota Florida at the Hyatt Sarasota on Sarasota Bay.

THE NATIONAL ADVANCED FIRE, ARSON, AND EXPLOSION INVESTIGATION TRAINING PROGRAM is scheduled for Monday through Wednesday August 2-4.
This year’s advanced program will focus on specialized investigative techniques and issues following the precepts of the National Fire Code, NFPA 921 - 2008, The Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations covering these advanced topics:
• The Ten Most Common Fire Scene Errors
• Update of NFPA 921 - 2011
• Overview of NFPA 921 and NFPA 1033
• Advanced Fire Dynamics for the Investigator

THE NATIONAL SEMINAR ON FIRE ANALYSIS LITIGATION is scheduled for Thursday and Friday August 5 and 6.
Nationally known and respected experts in fire analysis litigation will present discussions on some of the most important and timely issues in today’s fire litigation cases and the Legal Aspects of NFPA 921 and 1033. The Litigation Seminar topics to include:
• Managing Complex Investigations
• Joint Evidence Examinations
• Hands-On Tour of a Working Forensic Fire Science and Technology Laboratory

The NAFI Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) examination will be offered on Wednesday August 5 to those who qualify

ISFI 2010 - THE INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON FIRE INVESTIGATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY is the most prestigious international conference dedicated entirely to topics involving “state-of-the-art” fire investigation and analysis issues.

ISFI 2010 is scheduled for Sunday evening, September 26 through Wednesday, September 29. 2010 at the University Of Maryland University College Inn and Conference Center, 3501 University Boulevard East, Delphi, Maryland.

Delegate Registrations for ISFI 2010 are still being accepted.

ISFI 2010 is the 4th presentation of this biennial professional symposium. ISFI emphasizes the application of modern fire science and technology to fire investigations and analyses.

ISFI 2010 brings together a cadre of internationally known and respected fire investigation professionals to present and discuss the cutting edge of the profession's knowledge base in fire investigation science, research, technology, and methodology. Over 175 delegates, presenters, and exhibitors from eight countries attended ISFI 2008. With the great success of ISFI 2008 and enthusiastic post-symposium reviews, attendance is expected to significantly increase for ISFI 2010.

Each day of the Symposium will offer plenary session presentations in the mornings and afternoon breakout presentation lectures. Included in the delegate registration there will be daily continental breakfasts, daily buffet luncheons, and refreshment breaks throughout the day. The Symposium language is English.

This year there will be a record 50+ plenary and break-out presentations.

The popular ISFI social gatherings are also returning, including the Sunday night Pre-Symposium Informal Gathering, the Exhibits Hall, the Monday evening Cocktail Reception, and the Tuesday evening Gala "Black Tie" cocktail hour and dinner.

There will be a special meeting of the NFPA Technical Committee on Fire Investigations “ 921 Color Photos” Task Group (open to the Public) on Thursday morning, September 30.
