Did the driver go off roading or driving through tall grass. Those vehicles have issues with grass becoming stuck in the tarnsmission cross member/skid plate that can cause a fire. Once you remove the skid plate you may have grass stuck under it coming in contact with an exhaust pipe. May not be the case is this one, but worth checking. Not sure about the fuel pump on a diesel, they don't have that model in the US.
