I have known Mr. Carmen directly and indirectly for over a decade and found him to be a very knowledgeable person and resource. One of his scientific research topics was on the factual classification and debunking the myths of High Temperature Accelerant Fires that Seattle Fire alleged occurred a while back. Included in the IAAI Seminar presentation research (if I recall my information correctly) was the fact that many observations and determinations at the time did not take into account issues pertaining to Flashover.

It has been a couple of years since I last spoke to Steve, but at the time he is/was out of the Bay Area, California office of ATF. I personally think you and others will benefit from his experiences, research and the like.

Just my two cents, which won't buy you a cup of Java.

Chris
