Number of FI in US?

I am working on a grant proposal and there is a question in the application process that asks "How many people will be affected by your research or project"....

Now, I do not have to provide an exact number, but I do have to provide a number and the basis for that response.

One thought is to take the IAAI and NAFI membership numbers and provide that... include one for each FD in US, as someone in the dept has to complete the Incident Report..... but that does not give me a number from the Private Sector.

For those that may be interested, this grant proposal would be for "Fire Pattern Persistence, post flashover or full room involvement and Fire Pattern Reproducibility" a second set of 8 full scale room fire tests.

Thanks for your assistance.

Ron
