Circuit Breakers

On standard circuit residential breakers, there is a set screw that will allow the alteration of the setting at which the device will trip. The question is, does anyone know the + or – that an adjustment of this screw will allow as to amps at which it will trip. The second question is will the realignment of this screw change the trip setting for both the magnetic and heat sensing sections of the breaker.
