Hello,
What I see from the third photo of the complete unit is an empty fridge in an empty kitchen (nothing in cabinets showing..... If this was a vacant dwelling and the fridge doors propped open (for whatever reason...) and left plugged in; the unit may have continued to run trying to reach the set temperature but could not with the doors open and you may have had an overheating situation in the lower area of the compressor. Check that area completely for failures stemming from overheating or an electrical wire against a hot surface failing. Just some thoughts o share.....
