I was gonna post a related question, but now I'll just latch onto yours :
I'm more looking for electronic note-taking (as opposed to my clipboard, pen & pad);
but don't want to lug a 10" tablet around with me (7"- or phablet).
The idea is to keep it in my pocket as I clamber around,
perhaps take a pic of a fire-escape plan or pull in a drone picture,
and use it to sketch on (also recording interviews with witnesses etc.).
What hardware would you recommend?
Those phablets/tablets which with styluses are few and far between down here,
or can you recommend a phablet/tablet with a 3rd-party stylus and software.
