We use them here (South Africa), especially for large fires;
gives a better perspective than clambering up onto roofs yourself.
Local legislation (knee-jerk overreaction from the aviation-safety side, as well as privacy laws)
has made this difficult (you need to get a drone license, a schlep of note)
so we often just hire a local with one (typically < $150, all told).
